LinkedIn Growth Blueprint II

Writer: Petr MaresPetr Mares

1. The 4 Biggest Annoyances on LinkedIn

Thanks for your feedback, and now I’ll focus on addressing those LinkedIn challenges.

Linkedin polls

Research indicates that Instagram-style photos on LinkedIn, while often leading to higher engagement, can still disrupt the platform’s professional focus. LinkedIn users primarily seek content centered around business, networking, and career development, so highly stylized, personal images may feel out of place despite their popularity. Even with increased interaction, these visually driven posts don’t always align with the value-driven, informative content typically expected on LinkedIn. The informal tone and aesthetics of Instagram-style photos can sometimes undermine the credibility of individuals or brands, causing them to be perceived as less professional. As a result, while engagement may rise, the overall quality of professional interactions on LinkedIn may be negatively impacted.

VIDEO shorts - only on mobile

Even though video content can sometimes be perceived as annoying, here's a guide on how to use them effectively and what the costs are. It's becoming a big thing on LinkedIn, and those who learn to use them early will have a competitive advantage.

How to Target Your Short Video on Effectively:

1. Know Your Audience – Pick specific industries, size of the company, active on linkedin, job roles, or locations. A/B test! Be precise!

2. Choose the Right Campaign Goal – Brand awareness, lead generation, or engagement.☯️ Structure and audience size are crucial to campaign success. Precise targeting is key!

3. Use Demographic Targeting – Target by age, gender, industry, or interests like “Digital Marketing” or “AI Tech.”

4. Leverage Retargeting – Reconnect with users who’ve already engaged with your content.

While web retargeting has its huge limitations, Lead Gen retargeting is a strong alternative!

Buying options: • CPC (Cost Per Click): Around $5 to $7 per click. • CPM (Cost Per 1,000 Impressions): Typically $6 to $9. • CPV (Cost Per View): Ranges from $0.10 to $0.30 for each view (minimum 2 seconds watched). • CPL (Cost Per Lead): Usually ranges between $15 to $350 per lead. Many factors are in it: • Audience targeting (specific roles, industries, regions, etc.) • Competition within your industry • Ad quality and relevance • Budget settings and bidding strategies

With Lead Delta, you can tag conversations, helping you better organize your messages and improve clarity in your LinkedIn inbox. Problem solved :-)

CPC CPM CPV

It's important to understand that viewing LinkedIn's CPC, CPV, and CPM as annoyances is a perspective often held by beginners. In sectors where precise targeting is essential, LinkedIn's Cost Per Lead (CPL) can actually be comparable to Facebook Ads. However, based on my research, the quality of the leads you generate on LinkedIn can be up to 5 times higher due to the platform’s highly accurate targeting capabilities. This precision makes LinkedIn an invaluable tool for industries that require reaching niche audiences with specific job roles and professional interests.

By doing so, I can effectively track engagement, measure the success of both organic and paid campaigns, and continuously refine my approach based on real-time data.

The final step in this process is visualizing the data in Tableau, which allows me to create dynamic, insightful reports that offer a clear picture of performance across all Linkedin's areas.

Shield post report example

Check out the detailed data I have on companies interacting with my posts, including their occupation and region, which isn't visible on the main screen. Additionally, there's now an hour-by-hour report available for even more granular insights.

Metrics that I have been reviewing:

  • Impressions

  • Likes

  • Comments

  • Shares

  • Engagement Rate

  • Follower Growth

  • Article Views

  • Click-through Rate

In addition to these basic metrics, Shield also offers advanced ones like speed of likesspeed of impressions, and speed of comments. These are crucial because the LinkedIn algorithm tends to favor creators who have an engaged audience that interacts immediately after a post is published. You can start by encouraging your employees to engage, but keep in mind that the impact of their engagement may be reduced by up to 70% due to the same IP address, based on my data.

TIPS AND TRICKS

For the beginners is absolutely ok if they use Linkedin Native export to Google sheet and For beginners, it’s totally fine to start with LinkedIn Native Analytics and export the data to Google Sheets. 4. TOP 2 Creators on Linkedin / this month

top 2 content creators

5. Top Post from People Who Inspire Me

People often ask why I don’t have a lot of likes and comments. The answer is simple: I don’t focus on vanity metrics because I’m targeting the right people—a niche audience that values my content. They’re happy, and that’s what matters. In fact, I still generate nearly 100,000 organic impressions per month, which is fantastic. But this particular post captures the message better than I ever could, and I found it among thousands of others.

6. AI - CANVAS - New way of working with ChatGPT

Even though my focus is strictly on LinkedIn, I wanted to share some insights on the latest hot topic in AI.

AI - canvas

Canvas (Workspace) is a fresh interface for working with ChatGPT on writing and programming projects.

Next to the usual chat window, a separate workspace opens up for writing and coding. You can manually choose the Canvas interface from the model options, but sometimes it switches to the Canvas window on its own. If you type "use canvas," it will open up automatically as well.

Canvas for Writing

  • You can adjust the length of your writing with a simple slider—whether you need something shorter or more in-depth.

  • Highlight any specific sentences and ask ChatGPT to tweak them, for example, “make this sound friendlier” or even add some emojis.

  • Want the whole thing in a different language? No problem—ChatGPT can rewrite it.

  • Plus, there’s a handy search option that displays reports directly on the workspace.

Canvas for Programming

  • Hit the "add comments" button, and ChatGPT will automatically insert line-by-line documentation, explaining the code in plain language.

  • Highlight a section of code ChatGPT wrote, and you can ask for explanations or more details on it.

  • There’s also a new "review code" button that suggests edits to both generated and user-written code. You can approve, adjust, or reject the changes. If you approve, ChatGPT jumps right in to fix any errors.

Editable workspaces are already gaining traction—Anthropic introduced them with Artifacts in June/August, the popular Cursor programming assistant is already using them, and Microsoft recently rolled out shared workspaces in Copilot Pages.
